BSF Constable GD officers serve as the primary guardians of India's international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh — a total of 6,385 km of international border. They perform round-the-clock patrolling, surveillance at border outposts, anti-infiltration duties, anti-smuggling operations, and disaster management. BSF also has a Water Wing for riverine patrolling and an Air Wing.
