ANGRAU CET is the Common Entrance Test conducted by Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University for admission to undergraduate agriculture programmes in Andhra Pradesh. Any student who has passed or is appearing in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as main subjects from a recognised board is eligible to apply. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for general category candidates. The exam is especially competitive for Andhra Pradesh domicile students who compete for reserved state quota seats.

The ANGRAU CET syllabus covers Biology, Physics, and Chemistry at the Class 11 and 12 level. Biology carries the highest weightage and includes topics from Botany and Zoology such as plant physiology, genetics, ecology, human physiology, and reproduction. Physics covers mechanics, optics, electricity, and modern physics. Chemistry includes organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry topics. ANGRAU CET provides admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. Forestry, B.F.Sc. (Fisheries Science), and B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Science & Nutrition at colleges affiliated to ANGRAU across Andhra Pradesh. The allocation is merit-based and follows AP government reservation norms for SC, ST, BC, EWS, and other categories. Candidates must participate in the centralised AP Agriculture online counselling portal.

ANGRAU CET is specifically for agricultural science programmes, while AP EAMCET covers both Engineering and Agriculture streams in a single exam. In fact, since 2019, AP EAMCET Agriculture stream has been the primary gateway for agriculture admissions in AP, and ANGRAU may use EAMCET Agriculture ranks for allotment. Candidates are advised to verify with the latest official notification whether a separate ANGRAU CET is conducted or if EAMCET Agriculture ranks are used directly for counselling.

Biology is the most scoring subject in ANGRAU CET and should receive the most preparation time. Cover all 22 chapters of NCERT Class 11 and 12 Biology without skipping any, as questions are directly asked from these. Focus especially on Reproduction, Genetics & Evolution, Biology in Human Welfare, Biotechnology, and Ecology chapters from Class 12. Prepare short notes on life processes, hormones, and ecological concepts for quick revision. Solve at least 500 MCQs from Biology to build concept clarity and accuracy.
