BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE)

BPSC TRE is a 150-question paper in 150 minutes. For Primary (Class 1-5): Child Development & Pedagogy (30Q), Language (30Q), and Subject Knowledge (90Q). For Middle (Class 6-8): Subject-specific knowledge (90Q), Pedagogy (30Q), and Language (30Q). No negative marking applies.

Candidates need B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. certificate, TET/CTET pass certificate, graduation and intermediate marksheets, caste certificate (if applicable), Bihar domicile certificate, and Aadhaar card. All documents must be originals along with self-attested photocopies at verification stage.

BPSC TRE selected teachers are placed in Bihar government pay scale. Primary teachers (Class 1-5) receive approximately Rs. 25,000-35,000 per month. Middle and Secondary level teachers get Rs. 35,000-50,000 per month. Teachers are now permanent state government employees with full benefits.

For Primary level (Class 1-5), CTET Paper I or BTET Paper I is mandatory. For Middle level (Class 6-8), CTET Paper II or BTET Paper II is required. For Secondary level (Class 9-10), STET qualification is needed. Candidates who have cleared TET are eligible to apply.

BTET (Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test) is an eligibility test that qualifies candidates to appear in teacher recruitment. BPSC TRE is the actual recruitment examination conducted by BPSC to fill teacher vacancies in Bihar government schools. Clearing BTET/CTET is a prerequisite to appear in BPSC TRE.
