The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) is a Government of India PSU under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. CWC operates over 400 warehouses across India storing agricultural commodities, food grains, industrial goods, and government stocks. Management Trainees are recruited to handle warehouse operations, stock management, logistics coordination, and administrative functions. After a 1-year training period, they are posted as Junior Superintendent or equivalent in various warehouses, port-based cold chains, or head office departments.

CWC MT selection is typically done via a two-phase process: Preliminary and Main CBT. The Mains paper has 100 questions in 90 minutes with -0.25 negative marking. Sections include General Studies and Awareness, Reasoning Ability, English Language, and a domain-specific section (Commerce for General candidates, Technical for engineering candidates). The Commerce section tests accounting, trade, logistics, supply chain, and warehousing concepts. Candidates appearing for Technical (Civil/Electrical) posts face engineering-specific questions instead.

For General (Warehousing) posts, candidates need a Commerce/Management graduate degree or MBA. For Technical posts, a B.Tech in Civil or Electrical Engineering is required. The age limit is 18 to 28 years with standard relaxations. Work experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management, while not mandatory, is advantageous during the interview. Candidates should verify stream-specific eligibility from the official notification as CWC notifications often recruit for multiple post categories simultaneously.

CWC Management Trainees receive a stipend of approximately Rs. 40,000–50,000 per month during the 1-year training period. After confirmation, they are placed at Scale-I or equivalent (approximately Rs. 36,000–1,10,000 per month) under IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance). The role involves managing warehouse operations, stock auditing, tender handling, and liaising with FCI, state government agencies, and private traders. CWC employees receive performance-linked bonuses, free medical facilities, and HRA. Career growth leads to Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, and Regional Manager roles.

For the Commerce section, study accountancy, business economics, warehousing laws (Warehousing Development and Regulation Act 2007), supply chain basics, and commodity trading from standard BCA/BCom textbooks. For Reasoning, practise coding-decoding, syllogisms, blood relations, and data interpretation daily. English preparation should cover reading comprehension, sentence correction, and vocabulary. For General Studies, cover current affairs, government schemes in agriculture and food storage, economic survey highlights, and important PSU-related news. Attempt 5–6 mock tests weekly in the final month.
