Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Engineer/Operator Recruitment

HMWSSB recruits for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Assistant Engineer, Meter Reader, Operator (Water Treatment and Sewage), Fitter, Electrician, Field Supervisor, and administrative clerical posts. Technical posts require engineering qualifications while Operator and Fitter roles need ITI or Diploma credentials. Recruitment is done through TSPSC or direct HMWSSB drives depending on the post category.

Civil engineering candidates are tested on water supply and sanitation engineering, pipeline hydraulics, water treatment processes, sewage treatment technologies, structural design, and estimation. Mechanical candidates face questions on pump mechanics, pipe fitting, and machinery maintenance. Electrical candidates cover motor controls, electrical installations, and energy management. All candidates appear for the General Studies and Reasoning sections.

HMWSSB selection involves a written CBT followed by skill or trade test for technical/operator posts, and document verification. For posts through TSPSC, the state commission's merit list is used. Final selection is based on overall merit in written test and skill assessment. Candidates must also pass a medical fitness test. HMWSSB follows Telangana government reservation norms for SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories.

HMWSSB follows Telangana State Government Pay Scales. Junior Engineers earn approximately Rs. 35,000-75,000 per month. Operators and technical staff draw Rs. 20,000-35,000. Engineers with experience and promotion receive pay revisions as per Telangana PRC recommendations. Additional benefits include DA, HRA for Hyderabad city, medical facilities, and pension under the New Pension Scheme (NPS).
