Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test

IPM AT (Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test) is the entrance exam for the 5-year integrated BBA+MBA program at IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Ranchi. IIM Indore conducts IPM AT on behalf of the participating IIMs. Clearing IPM AT with a good score, followed by a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), leads to direct admission to these prestigious IIM programs.

The maximum age for appearing in IPM AT is 20 years as of July 31 of the admission year (22 years for SC/ST/PwD). This means only Class 12 students and recent passouts are eligible. The 5-year integrated program is designed for students entering directly from school, combining undergraduate management education with an MBA degree.

IPM AT targets Class 12 students for a 5-year integrated program, whereas CAT targets graduates for a 2-year MBA. IPM AT has Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning sections and is generally considered moderately hard — harder than most State CETs but easier than CAT. IPM AT is a great pathway for students who want to enter IIMs without waiting to complete their graduation.

After qualifying IPM AT, shortlisted candidates are called for a Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the respective IIM. The final selection is based on composite scores of IPM AT, WAT, and PI. Academic records (Class 10 and 12 scores) are also given some weightage in the final merit list.
