NEET MDS is the national entrance examination for admission to MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) programs across all dental colleges in India. It replaced the earlier AIPGDEE and various institute-specific entrance exams to create a single centralized dental PG entrance. NEET MDS consists of 240 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 240 minutes (4 hours), giving exactly 1 minute per question. Each correct answer carries 4 marks and each wrong answer incurs a penalty of 1 mark (total marks = 960). The exam covers all BDS subjects including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Dental Materials, Oral Anatomy, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Pedodontics, and Public Health Dentistry. The longer duration (4 hours, 240 questions) tests endurance alongside knowledge.
