AP TET qualifying score is 60% (90/150) for general category and 50% (75/150) for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of qualification. AP TET is mandatory for all AP DSC (District Selection Committee) teacher recruitment.

AP DSC uses AP TET for all school teacher recruitment. AP DSC 2022–23 had 9,168 SGT (primary) + 7,882 SA (school assistant) = 17,050+ vacancies. AP regularly releases 10,000–25,000 teacher vacancies in major recruitment drives. AP TET is the most important education exam in the state.

Is AP TET different from TS TET?

Yes, AP TET and TS TET are completely separate state eligibility tests conducted after the bifurcation of AP in 2014. AP TET is for teaching in Andhra Pradesh government schools and TS TET is for Telangana government schools. CTET is a third separate eligibility test for central schools.

What is the salary of an AP SGT (primary teacher) qualified through AP TET?

AP SGT earns basic pay ₹28,940–₹83,050 (AP Grade Scale) + DA + HRA. Total in-hand is approximately ₹40,000–₹55,000 per month. AP SA (School Assistant) earns ₹33,820+ basic pay with similar allowances. AP provides good teacher welfare schemes.
