Expert Preparation Tips
Real Analysis (Sequences, Series, Continuity, Differentiability) is conceptual and proof-based — start early in preparation
Linear Algebra (Eigenvalues, Vector Spaces, Diagonalization) is the most calculation-friendly topic — secure full marks here
Complex Analysis (Cauchy Theorem, Residues, Conformal Mapping) is advanced — use Arfken or Churchill textbooks
Probability and Statistics contribute 10-12 marks and are more calculation-based — easier to secure than pure theory topics
Write proofs out by hand — GATE MA rewards fluency in short proofs over long constructions
Linear programming and numerical analysis sections are calculational islands of easy marks — secure them fully
