NHPC projects are located in remote hydroelectric project sites in the Himalayas, North-East, and other regions, and postings to these sites attract Project Allowance. Pay revision occurs every five years.

Yes, NHPC requires Trainee Engineers to serve a bond period of two years from the date of joining. The bond amount is approximately Rs. 1–2 lakh and is recoverable if the candidate leaves during the bond period. Given that NHPC project sites are often in remote, high-altitude regions in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, candidates must be physically and mentally prepared for challenging living and work conditions.
