Candidates shortlisted through JNUEE are called for an interview/viva conducted by the respective school's faculty committee. For Social Sciences and Humanities, the interview may involve discussing contemporary debates in the field. The final merit list is based on 75% weight to written test and 25% to interview performance (weightage varies by school).
