Question 1

What is the structure of TSTET Paper 1 and Paper 2?

Accepted Answer

TSTET Paper 1 (Primary level, Classes 1–5) consists of 150 questions covering Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I (Telugu/Urdu), Language II (English), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Paper 2 (Upper Primary, Classes 6–8) replaces EVS with a 60-question subject-specific section in Mathematics/Science or Social Studies. Both papers are 150 minutes in duration.

Question 2

What are the passing marks for TSTET 2026?

Accepted Answer

TSTET requires 60% marks (90/150) for General/OBC category candidates and 50% (75/150) for SC/ST/PWD candidates. The Telangana government has granted lifetime validity to TSTET certificates, making it beneficial for candidates who qualified in earlier years to still be eligible for teacher recruitment.

Question 3

What teaching jobs can TSTET-qualified candidates apply for?

Accepted Answer

TSTET qualification is mandatory for School Assistant, Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT), and Language Pandit posts in Telangana government schools. Recruitment is managed by TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) and district-level DSCs. TSTET score acts as an eligibility criterion, and final selection is based on merit in the recruitment exam.

Question 4

How is TSTET different from APTET after state bifurcation?

Accepted Answer

After Telangana was bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh in 2014, both states conduct their own separate TETs. TSTET is conducted by TSBIE Hyderabad for Telangana government schools, while APTET is conducted by BSEAP for Andhra Pradesh. Certificates from one state are not valid for recruitment in the other state.

Question 5

What topics should I focus on for TSTET Child Development section?

Accepted Answer

TSTET Child Development & Pedagogy covers developmental psychology (Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson), learning theories (behaviourism, constructivism), inclusive education, language acquisition, assessment and evaluation methods, and RTE 2009 provisions. Focus on applying these theories to Telugu-medium classroom scenarios, as questions often present context-specific situations.
