Question 1

What are the passing marks for CG TET 2026?

Accepted Answer

CG TET requires 60% marks (90/150) for General/OBC category candidates and 50% (75/150) for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Given Chhattisgarh's large tribal (Scheduled Tribe) population, the 50% passing mark for ST candidates is particularly significant. The CG TET certificate is valid for 7 years from the date of issue, with the state government reviewing this periodically.

Question 2

What are the teaching job opportunities after CG TET?

Accepted Answer

CG TET-qualified candidates can apply for Primary Teacher (Sahayak Adhyapak) posts (Classes 1–5) and Upper Primary Teacher posts (Classes 6–8) in Chhattisgarh government schools. Recruitment is conducted by CG Vyapam (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board) and district education offices. Chhattisgarh offers tribal area postings with additional tribal area allowances for teachers serving in naxal-affected and remote forest areas.

Question 3

How does CG TET address Chhattisgarh's tribal education challenges?

Accepted Answer

CG TET pedagogy questions test knowledge of inclusive education for tribal children, multilingual classroom management, and culturally sensitive teaching approaches for Gondi, Halbi, Chhattisgarhi, and other tribal language-speaking children. Chhattisgarh's education policy promotes mother tongue-based multilingual education (MTBMLE) for tribal primary school children, and CGTET candidates benefit from understanding these approaches.

Question 4

What is the significance of CG TET for Naxal-affected area teaching?

Accepted Answer

Chhattisgarh has many schools in Naxal-affected Bastar and other Maoist-influenced regions. CG TET-qualified teachers posted to these areas receive special allowances and incentives under the state government's tribal area development programs. The pedagogy section of CG TET occasionally tests knowledge of education in conflict-affected areas and the role of schools in community development.

Question 5

What topics should I focus on for CG TET EVS section?

Accepted Answer

CG TET EVS section for Paper 1 covers nature, family, animals, plants, shelter, water, travel, and local environment as per NCERT Class 3–5 EVS textbooks. For Paper 2 Social Studies, focus on Chhattisgarh's geographical features (Maikal Hills, Bastar plateau, Indravati and Mahanadi rivers), tribal history, Chhattisgarh's formation in 2000, and current economic development including mining and steel industries.
